GamesThe Madness of Mission 6![]() This image is already "old," as it turned up on Digg a few days ago, but it's so awesome I still think it deserves posting. It turns out it was actually done as a t-shirt design for threadless.com entitled "The Madness of Mission 6." Check that link for the full image. The Message of Majora's Mask
Someone has put together various clues from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask to come up with not only the overarching theme of the game, but also an incredible back-story hidden within the architecture and dialogue of the game. Somehow, I think he's gotten it right, too.
Death of a PlumberCheck out this profound "mortography" of Mario deaths. It was put together for a media projects course. Iwata Asks: Link's Crossbow Training![]() (laughs) There's a new Iwata Asks up, and this one's about Link's Crossbow Training. It's just Iwata and Miyamoto this time, and the conversation is the most surreal one yet (laughs). The highlight of this talk is the first line, with Miyamoto opening: "What? Am I the only one being interviewed today?" Come on Iwata, look at Mr. Miyamoto's day planner (pictured above), that man is busy (laughs). Royalty Plays Wii
Prince William recently played some Wii tennis when "visiting the Valleys Kids Project at the Pen Dinas Flats, in Dinas in the Rhondda Valleys." I just quoted the story because I have no idea what any of that means. Reportedly he won though, which jives with earlier reports that he received a Wii last Christmas, and that the Queen herself played some bowling on it.
I'm a big fan of celebrities, and even royalty, playing video games. Makes me think that if I ever happen to be chillin' with a famous person that we can bond over gaming. Hiroshi Yamauchi: Richest Man in Japan![]() Forbes is reporting that Hiroshi Yamauchi, retired chairman of Nintendo, is now Japan's richest businessperson. The 80 year old legend of the industry is now worth $7.8 billion. I'm curious to know who's inheriting his stock once he dies. Some choice responses from NeoGAF on the news: "Ah, the Dreadlord Yamauchi himself..." - KyanMehwulfe "Pimp hand is strong." - Rorschach Nintendo Channel Launches for Wii in North America
After months of waiting, the Nintendo Channel has now launched in North America. The channel is free for download from the Wii Shop Channel, and allows users to search for, rate, view videos of, and even purchase games. If you allow it, the channel also lets Nintendo gather all kinds of information on you too, for the dark purpose of commerce, I am sure.
My favourite service so far is the DS Download Service, which allows you to download DS demos to your DS to play. Check out the Cooking Mama demo! My favourite video so far is the interview with Miyamoto. Castle Vidcons![]() Welcome to the newest and greatest gaming webcomic. This one is called Castle Vidcons, and it’s hilarious. I recommend everyone check it out. By Gunpei's ghost...
Super Mario Land Review
Overview
Super Mario Land is an old Gameboy game; actually, it's old even for a Gameboy game. It's often considered sub-par compared to other Mario games because it's short, and because it changes some of the traditional gameplay elements. Star Fox 64 Review
Overview
Star Fox 64 is an early N64 game, and a (mostly) on rails shooter. It's meant to be played through in a single sitting, with branching level paths, a focus on earning points and unlocking medals, all serving to create an almost infinitely replayable game. |
